Guided Historical Walk
The word Portobelo conveys memories of the colonial time, preserved in the beautiful dock which was protected by the fortresses at the far end of the sea bay and from which galleons loaded with gold and silver sailed of to Spain. A guide from El Otro Lado can show you the town, the forts, the Aduana, the Churcvh of the Black Christ and other historical enclaves declared World Heritage.
Congo Dance
El Otro Lado can, whenever you wish, provide you with the experience of a typical Portobelo activity; the Congo dance with its rhythmic drums accompanied by voices and handclaps. The Congo “game”, a performance of great historical importance in the Afro-Panamanian culture, is interpreted by the group Realce Histórico and accompanied by the percussion of the local Rhythm School.

Many of our collaborators are born and raised in Portobelo and are perfectly familiar with every corner of the estate and its surroundings; take advantage of their knowledge. Do not forget your camera and…observe and enjoy. Every place is unique.
About our boats: They are equipped with life jackets, GPS and medicine cabinet, as well as dry towels and, depending on the activity you have chosen, picnic service or refrigerator. We also provide snorkeling equipment; choose your size in the “Range of Activities” to have it brought on board.
