What time is check-In & check-out?
We ask you to schedule your arrival (check-in) for after 3pm and departure (check-out) before 1pm.
There is no charge for early check-in or for late check-out; if the room is available, we are happy to accommodate your arrival or departure requests outside these times at no charge, provided there is availability and that this does not prove an inconvenience for other guest
How are the meals?
The plated breakfast service is included in the room rate. Lunches and dinners are organized by our chef, are based on the freshest ingredients of the day, and are served in three courses for $32 for lunch and $38 for dinner, plus beverages.
How are reservations modified or canceled?
To confirm your reservation we require an advance deposit of 100% of the stay plus tax. Any request for cancellation or change of dates must be submitted in writing directly to the reservations department: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is there accessibility for the disabled?
There are a number of design attributes, the inherent characteristics of maritime transportation to El Otro Lado and gravel paths that hinder the movement of people with disabilities. However, we strive to provide what is needed to ensure that this is not an impediment to their stay.
Are minors allowed?
The private and tranquil environment of El Otro Lado, across from the open sea, was designed especially for couples. People of all ages are welcome, even children. If the invited group includes children, it is prudent to explain that there is an unequivocal requirement for appropriate and consistent supervision for the children. No one wishes to disturb our other guests, particularly at mealtime. Nor would anyone wish to be embarrassed by unintentionally providing an opportunity for damage to the art objects at the retreat.
What measurements are taken by El Otro Lado to control mosquitos and insects?
Due to its tropical location, El Otro Lado schedules daily smoke fumigation between 6 & 7pm. These treatments are not toxic to humans. In addition, in all of our cabins you will find Sawyer brand insect repellent with Picaridin.
What is the currency in Panama? What is the exchange rate?
B/. is the symbol for balboas, which is the national currency of The Republic of Panama. The exchange rate with the United States dollar is one-to-one, or one Panamanian balboa equals one US dollar. Thus B/. 10.00 (ten balboas) equal US$10.00 (ten dollars).
